We will be in touch shortly.  In the meantime, check out the links below, or watch the Demo overview video to learn more about Acadicus.

Simulation is a crucial method of learning that enables individuals to actively participate in immersive experiences that prepare them for real-world scenarios. Its benefits have been well-established through extensive research and the support of a dedicated community of instructors and technicians in sim labs worldwide.

When creating Acadicus, our goal was to not just develop a pre-programmed app, but to create a platform that supports this community while adhering to established best practices in simulation.

By incorporating a virtual dimension to simulation, we aim to significantly reduce costs and greatly expand access to this powerful learning modality. Our virtual environment allows for a vast array of patients, equipment, environments, and scenarios at a fraction of the cost and with a level of realism that makes it easy to forget you’re not physically there.

Learn about how to access Acadicus, the available content, and the features that facilitate the creation and execution of simulations. We will also showcase research and real-world examples from our growing community of customers who are pushing the boundaries of simulation to new heights.

Join us on this exciting journey of virtual simulation and discover the endless possibilities it offers. Let’s begin with the basics.

Accessing Acadicus

Acadicus is a virtual simulation lab that allows users to access and create immersive learning experiences from anywhere at any time. It is available for free download on our website and is compatible with Windows PC in non-VR mode, as well as various VR devices such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index, and HP Reverb G2. Users can also connect an Oculus Quest to a compatible Windows PC.

While Acadicus does not come with VR hardware, it is readily available for purchase online at an approximate cost of $3,000 per complete VR station. The number of stations needed will vary depending on the budget and objectives of the initiative.

The virtual environment in Acadicus allows participants to feel as if they are in the same room together, able to see and hear each other, and even interact with virtual objects. This allows for participants to join from any location, making it possible for individuals on different campuses or even in different countries to feel as if they are together in the same simulation.

Another way to provide access to Acadicus is through screen sharing during a video conference call. This provides a window into the simulation for anyone, anywhere, using any device.

Users can freely access the Acadicus Commons, a public space containing a variety of simulations to explore. However, to run private simulations, a $10,000 per year subscription to a private Lab is required, which provides unlimited access to all necessary tools and resources for conducting simulations.

In summary, Acadicus is a virtual simulation lab that allows users to access and create immersive learning experiences anytime and anywhere. It’s free to download and compatible with various VR hardware, as well as non-VR mode. Users can join simulations using a passcode and can interact with each other in a virtual space, even if they’re in different locations. The public Commons is freely accessible, but to run private simulations, users need to subscribe to a private lab, which is a one-time fee of $10,000 per year with no additional costs per user or per use. The private lab includes access to the entire content library and all features of the platform.

Content Library

Acadicus offers a wide variety of Simulation templates that can be accessed through the Content Index on our website. These templates can be used for self-study, live simulation with actors, or to view 3D recorded instructor demonstrations.

To get started, users can open their Library and load any of the templates by clicking and loading.

We offer a discount on custom content development if it can be added to the shared library. This shared content model and open access philosophy allows customers to be innovators and direct the development of our growing content library.

Features

Acadicus offers several powerful features to enhance the simulation experience, including multi-user access, the Simulation Manager, Scene Editor, and 3D recording tool.

The Simulation Manager is a dashboard that facilitators can use to control various elements of the simulation in real-time, such as patient animations, scenario phases, alarms, and other sound effects. Each patient has a unique Simulation Manager tailored to the specific objectives of the scenario.

The Scene Editor allows facilitators to customize the environment and layout of the simulation, while the 3D recording tool allows them to capture and analyze the simulation from different angles.

Multi-user access enables multiple users to participate in the simulation simultaneously, providing a more realistic and collaborative experience.

Together, these features provide facilitators with a powerful set of tools to create and manage engaging and realistic simulations that meet the specific needs of their students.

Scene Editing Tools

Let’s move on to the Scene Editing Tools. Remember, you can work with any of the existing Simulation templates we provide as they are, but if you’re ambitious and want to edit or create your own Simulations, we provide all of the tools you need to do so.

You can download content packs, and bring assets into your scene from your inventory. You can save as many scenes as you’d like to your Lab, then load them later.

3D Spatial Recordings

Next, let’s talk about 3D recordings. This tool allows instructors to quickly and easily capture immersive demonstrations of skills or virtual lectures. When you activate a 3D recording, a hologram of the presenter’s avatar appears in 3D, allowing you to follow along and watch it as many times as needed.

Community

Finally, I’d like to introduce you to our Community

When you join Acadicus, you’re not just buying an app. You become part of a rapidly growing community of simulation innovators building and defining the future of this exciting new frontier.

Let’s take a look at just a few of their stories. If you’d like to learn more about any of these customers, you can watch their appearances on the Acadicus roundtable on our website.

Training

Every Acadicus subscription comes with 3 training sessions to help educate faculty and facilitators on everything they need to know to run simulations.
